Pet insurance
What is pet insurance?
To many people a pet is the most important thing in a person's life, their best friend and part of the family. Therefore it is important to ensure that your furry friend is insured so that you are not left with the expensive consequences if they become unwell due to accident or sickness.
Pet insurance can provide cover to your pet in the event of your pet becoming ill, suffering an accident and being lost or stolen, which you may get a payment for both publicity and reward upon someone finding your pet. Some policies cover you should you have to cancel your holiday due to your pet becoming ill.
What does pet insurance cover?
What is covered in your policy will depend on the amount of cover you require from the insurance provider, a policy can include any of the following:
- Holiday compensation
- Kennel fees
- Accidental death
- Loss or theft
- Publicity and Marketing
- Vet Bills
- Third Party Liability
- Damage to other people/animal
It is important that you read your policy in detail so that you know what you are covered for and what you are not. It may be that an existing condition that your pet has is not covered under the policy at the time of the application. Some dogs may be refused insurance due to the nature of their work e.g. police dogs.
